What is Fresh48 photography?

Fresh 48 photography documents your baby’s first 24 to 48 hours in the hospital: first feeds, family moments, and tiny details that exist only in those hours. We photograph Fresh 48 sessions at hospitals across New York City, New Jersey and Connecticut, within each hospital’s policies.

How much does a birth doula cost in NYC?

Experienced birth doulas in New York City and New Jersey typically charge $2,500 to $6,000, depending on experience and on what the package includes. We share our current rates on a free discovery call, and doula fees are often reimbursable through employer benefits such as Carrot or Maven, or through an HSA or FSA.

Can one person be both a birth photographer and doula?

Yes. At YourCherish, the same certified person can support your labor as your doula and document your birth as your photographer, creating a seamless and deeply personal experience.

What hospitals in NYC does YourCherish serve?

Our doulas and photographers work with families at hospitals across the five boroughs, including NYU Langone, Mount Sinai, Lenox Hill, NewYork-Presbyterian, Weill Cornell, Columbia, Montefiore, LIJ, Brooklyn Methodist and Maimonides, and at hospitals in New Jersey and Connecticut. Each hospital sets its own policies, and we confirm the current rules with you before your birth.

How much do photo sessions cost at YourCherish?

Photo sessions (maternity, newborn, family) start at $490. Birth photography is $2,200 and our Standard Birth Doula support is $2,800. Booking doula support and birth photography together costs less than booking them separately, and we share the combined price on a free discovery call.

Can the same person be my doula and my birth photographer?

Yes. At YourCherish, the same certified person can be your DONA-certified doula and your birth photographer, from labor through golden hour.

What areas does YourCherish serve?

New York City, Westchester, Long Island, Northern New Jersey and Fairfield County, Connecticut. Studio sessions are at 301 W 118th St, New York, NY 10026, and we also come to your home.

Most birth clients book between weeks 20 and 32; we go on call from 36 weeks. Newborn sessions are best on days 5-14, when babies are sleepiest.

Are you available 24/7 for births?

Yes. Our birth line is answered 24/7 from 36 weeks, and we support births at hospitals, birth centers and at home, including planned and unplanned C-sections, within each hospital’s policies.
