Newborn Photographer Near NYU Langone NYC — Fresh48 and In-Home Sessions

You've been at NYU Langone for hours or maybe a day, and you're looking at your baby — really looking, the way you haven't fully been able to yet — and you realize that this exact thing, this specific light in this specific room with this very new face, is something you want documented.

Most families who search for a photographer near NYU Langone are looking for one of two things: Fresh48 photography (documenting the first 24 to 48 hours in the hospital) or an in-home newborn session in the days or weeks following discharge. We provide both.

Fresh48 at NYU Langone

NYU Langone's labor and delivery floor at the Tisch Hospital on 33rd Street is one of the hospitals we work at most frequently. We know the facility, the visiting policies, how to navigate building access efficiently, and how to make the most of the light in the postpartum rooms.

A Fresh48 session at NYU Langone typically works like this: you deliver, you settle into your postpartum room, you have your first hours of skin-to-skin and quiet. When you feel ready — often 2 to 4 hours after birth — you send us a message. We arrive within the hour. We spend 1.5 to 2 hours documenting what is genuinely happening: the first feeding, the first time grandparents hold the baby, the specific face your partner makes, the bassinet card with the name and birth time, your baby's hands.

These images exist nowhere else. You cannot recreate them. The photos from the hospital are often the ones clients say they reach for most — not the studio newborn session, not the maternity portraits — but the ones from those first hours when everything was still raw and new and real.

In-Home Newborn Sessions Near NYU Langone

If you're delivering at NYU Langone, you likely live somewhere in Manhattan — the Upper East Side, Midtown, the Upper West Side, Murray Hill, the East Village, Gramercy, or one of Downtown's neighborhoods. All of these are neighborhoods we photograph in-home newborn sessions regularly.

We bring a complete studio setup to your apartment — professional lighting, posing equipment, wraps, and props — and create both posed studio-style portraits and lifestyle documentary images of your family in your actual space. The session runs 3 to 4 hours and is entirely at the pace of your baby.

The best time for in-home newborn sessions is the first 5 to 14 days after birth, when babies are sleepiest and most flexible for posed shots. We recommend booking before your due date and confirming the session date once the baby arrives.

When to Book

Book before your due date. For Fresh48 especially, photographer availability during your exact birth window cannot be guaranteed if you wait until after the baby arrives.

The process is simple: reach out before your due date, we have a quick call, you're officially on our on-call list from 37 weeks until you deliver.

Other Hospitals We Work At

We photograph Fresh48 sessions and provide birth doula support at all major Manhattan hospitals, not only NYU Langone:

Mount Sinai East and West · Lenox Hill · NY-Presbyterian / Weill Cornell · Columbia University Irving Medical Center · Bellevue · Beth Israel

If you're delivering at any Manhattan hospital, we can be there.
