Family Photographer in NYC

Family photos have a reputation. Matching outfits, awkward smiles, everyone told to say cheese at the same moment. We do not do that.

YourCherish makes family photos that look like your family actually is — the kid who won't sit still, the toddler who suddenly needs a snack in the middle of everything, the way your partner looks at you when they think you're not watching, the specific chaos and warmth of the people you actually live with.

These are the images you'll still be looking at in thirty years. They should look like your life.

How Our Family Sessions Work

Every family session starts the same way: we talk. Not a questionnaire. A real conversation about your family, what matters to you, where you live, what your kids are like, what you've always imagined having but never quite captured.

From there, we plan a session that's genuinely yours — location, timing, wardrobe guidance, how the session will flow. You arrive knowing what to expect. We handle everything else.

Session length: Most family sessions run 1 to 1.5 hours. Long enough to settle in and let the real moments happen, short enough that nobody hits a wall.

What you receive: 40 to 80 fully edited images in a private gallery with full download rights, delivered within 3 weeks.

Locations

Central Park, Manhattan The American elms along the Mall in fall. The open meadows at golden hour. The quiet of the Ramble on a weekday morning. Central Park has been the backdrop for millions of family photos — and with the right timing and the right spots, it looks nothing like any of the others.

DUMBO and Brooklyn Bridge Park The cobblestones, the Manhattan Bridge, the waterfront, the skyline. DUMBO is one of the most photographed places in New York for good reason. We do sunrise sessions here specifically so your family has it to yourselves.

Prospect Park, Brooklyn Brooklyn's backyard. The Long Meadow at golden hour is one of the most beautiful open spaces in any American city. For Brooklyn families especially, Prospect Park sessions have an ease and naturalness that Manhattan locations sometimes can't match — because it's already where you live.

Your Home The most personal option. In-home family sessions capture the actual environment your family lives in — the light in your living room, the corner where the kids play, the kitchen on a Saturday morning. These are the images that feel most like you, because they are you.

Other NYC neighborhoods: We travel everywhere — the High Line, Riverside Park, Brooklyn Heights Promenade, Washington Square Park, Greenpoint, Carroll Gardens, Astoria, and beyond. If you have a specific location in mind, ask. The answer is almost always yes.

What Makes a Good Family Session

The honest answer: a family session works best when you stop trying to make it work.

The kids who run when they're supposed to stand, the toddler who melts down exactly once in the middle, the moment when you forget we're there and laugh at something that has nothing to do with photos — those are the images you'll frame.

Our job is to keep moving, stay patient, find the light, and be ready when the real moment arrives. Your job is to be your family. We take care of the rest.

What Clients Say

"We have tried three different photographers over the years and they all looked like family photos — stiff, posed, a little awkward. Olga's images look like us. My kids look like themselves. My husband looks like himself. We ordered three prints the day we got the gallery." — Nina & Ben, Park Slope Brooklyn

"I was not optimistic. I have two kids under four and a golden retriever and I thought this would be chaos. It was chaos, and the photos are perfect. She caught every single real moment." — Sarah M., Upper West Side Manhattan

"The photos from our Central Park session at golden hour look like a movie. I genuinely can't believe these are of us." — Alina & David, Upper East Side
