NYU Langone Brooklyn — the campus in Bay Ridge and Sunset Park, formerly known as Lutheran Medical Center — serves an enormous swath of southern and western Brooklyn. For families in Bay Ridge, Sunset Park, Dyker Heights, Borough Park, Bensonhurst, and the surrounding neighborhoods, this is the closest and most familiar NYU system delivery option.
It's a campus we work at, and it's worth knowing it's a completely separate experience from NYU Langone's Manhattan Tisch campus — different building, different neighborhood, different atmosphere, same NYU system quality of care.

The Bay Ridge and Sunset Park campuses serve communities that are some of the most culturally diverse in Brooklyn. Russian-speaking families from Bensonhurst, Arab-American and Middle Eastern families from Bay Ridge, Chinese families from Sunset Park — Olga is a native Russian speaker and YourCherish has photographed families from all of these communities.

The Difference Between NYU Langone Manhattan and NYU Langone Brooklyn
They share a system but not a culture. Manhattan's Tisch campus is a major academic medical center in the middle of Midtown. Brooklyn's campus is a community hospital with a strong neighborhood connection and a more intimate atmosphere. Many Brooklyn families specifically choose it because it feels less institutional.
For Fresh48 photography, the Brooklyn campus often has better light — newer renovation in some sections — and a pace that allows for a slightly less rushed session.
In-Home Newborn Sessions in Bay Ridge and Beyond
After discharge, we come to your neighborhood. Bay Ridge apartments often have generous room sizes and excellent light by Brooklyn standards — south-facing rooms in the limestone buildings along Shore Road get afternoon light that photographs beautifully. Sunset Park, Dyker Heights, Bensonhurst, Bath Beach: we travel to all of them.
