Delivering at Holy Name — What to Know
Babies are born in The BirthPlace, a recently renovated unit of private labor-delivery-recovery suites and private mother-baby rooms on the same floor as the nursery. Nitrous oxide is offered for labor, midwives are part of the team for lower-risk pregnancies, and laborists, anesthesiologists, pediatricians and neonatologists are on site around the clock. A new Level III NICU opened in fall 2024, and Newsweek named Holy Name one of America's Best Maternity Hospitals for 2026.
Holy Name's published doula policy says the hospital supports every patient's right to have a doula present during pregnancy, labor and postpartum care (one doula at a time), in addition to your support person. We confirm the current visiting rules with your care team before your due date.
YourCherish provides doula support in English, Russian, and Spanish — ensuring full communication and advocacy regardless of your primary language.

Your Birth Story at Holy Name: Doula + Photography
Your YourCherish doula is also a documentary birth photographer, so you never have to bring a stranger into your birth room. Families delivering at Holy Name can add any of these to their doula package:
Birth photography by your doula. The same person supporting you through labor at Holy Name quietly documents your labor and your baby's first moments, without adding another person to the room.
Fresh48 in your postpartum room. Soft, unposed photos of your first days together, taken at Holy Name before you go home. See Fresh48 at Holy Name →
Maternity session at home or outdoors. At 32–36 weeks, in your home or outdoors at Votee Park in Teaneck or Overpeck County Park in Leonia, both a few minutes from the hospital.
Hospital photo and video rules can change, so we confirm them with your care team before your birth, and we always pause when staff ask us to. See the doula + photography packages →
