Birth Doula, Photography, and Videography — All in One

Most families who want their birth documented have to hire two or three separate people — a doula, a birth photographer, and a videographer — and hope they work well together in the most intimate room of your life.

YourCherish is the only team in the tristate area that combines all three in one seamless experience.

One person. One presence. Your entire birth — supported, photographed, and filmed by someone who was genuinely there with you.

Why One Person Changes Everything

When your doula, photographer, and videographer are different people, you have:

  • Three strangers in your birth room navigating each other

  • A photographer who doesn't know your birth preferences

  • A videographer who hasn't been briefed on what matters to you

  • A doula who is focused on support while two other people work around her

  • Coordination overhead that falls on you during labor

When one person holds all three roles, you have:

  • One presence who knows your full story — medically, emotionally, personally

  • Documentation that comes from genuine understanding, not observation

  • Support that never stops to pick up a camera — because the support and the camera are the same person

  • Images and film that feel like memory, not coverage

  • A birth room that is quiet, intimate, and entirely yours

The Film Your Baby Will Watch Someday

Birth videography is the most underused and most treasured documentation families can have.

Photographs are still. They hold a moment perfectly. But they cannot give you back the sound of your baby's first cry, the exact words your partner said when your baby was placed on your chest, the sound of a room that has just changed forever.

A birth film does.

We create short documentary films — 5 minutes — that are not highlight reels or montages set to generic music. They are genuine documents of what happened in that room, told with the same care and intention we bring to every photograph we make.

Families who have a birth film describe it as the most valuable thing they own.

How Photography and Doula Work Together

The question we are asked most often is: How do you do both at the same time?

The honest answer is that the two roles are not in conflict — they are in dialogue.

During the most intense phases of labor, your doula is fully present with you. The camera goes down. These are not moments to photograph. They are moments to be held.

During quieter phases — early labor, rest between contractions, the moments of waiting — the camera comes up. These are moments that disappear.

At delivery, both happen simultaneously. The most important images come from a photographer who understood what was about to happen — because she was the person who helped you get there.

The result is a body of work that is both technically excellent and emotionally true. Because it was made by someone who was in it with you.

What Families Say

"Having Olga as our doula, photographer, and videographer was the best decision we made for our birth. There was one person in that room who knew us, trusted us, and documented everything with total presence. The film she made still makes us cry every time we watch it." — Elena & James, home birth, Brooklyn

"I didn't know the combined package existed until I found YourCherish. By the time I found it I was 32 weeks and panicking that it would be too late. It wasn't. The film of our daughter's birth at NYU Langone is something I will treasure for the rest of my life." — Priya S., delivered at NYU Langone, Manhattan
