Delivering at NYU Langone Brooklyn — What to Know
The hospital's maternity team includes midwives alongside its obstetricians, and it was the first hospital in Brooklyn to earn The Joint Commission's Advanced Perinatal Care certification. It has been a Baby-Friendly hospital since 2020. New York State designates it a Level 2 Perinatal Center, which means that babies born very early or very small (before 32 weeks or under 1,500 grams) are transferred to NYU Langone's Tisch Hospital in Manhattan, a Level 4 regional center.
NYU Langone's published policy says it welcomes doulas during labor, delivery and recovery, and it allows three support people throughout labor, delivery and postpartum (at least one of them an adult). We confirm the current rules with your care team before your due date.
YourCherish provides doula support in English, Russian, and Spanish — ensuring full communication and advocacy regardless of your primary language.
