Delivering at White Plains Hospital — What to Know
Labor and Delivery is on the sixth floor of the patient tower: six 400-square-foot suites, each with a private bathroom and shower, wireless (telemetry) monitoring, and a family area with a convertible sofa. Afterward you move to a private mother-baby room with an en-suite shower. Nitrous oxide is among the pain-relief options, hospital-based obstetricians and obstetric anesthesiologists are on site around the clock, and the Level III NICU cares for babies born from 25 weeks. New York State designates it a Level 3 Perinatal Center; it has been Baby-Friendly since 2021 and holds Magnet nursing recognition.
White Plains Hospital's published policy allows two support persons (18 or older) during labor and delivery, and it states that under New York law you may also have a doula present during and after delivery. After a cesarean, one support person joins you in recovery. We confirm the current rules with your care team before your due date.
