What a Fresh48 Session at Valley Looks Like
After your delivery, once you've been moved to your postpartum room and had time to settle, you let us know you're ready.
We arrive at Valley, find you, and we begin.
There is no instruction. No setup. No request for you to perform or prepare anything. We move quietly through your room for 1.5 to 2.5 hours, documenting what is already happening: the way your baby looks in those first hours, the way you look at them, the first feeds, the first holds, the first quiet.
Your gallery arrives within 5 to 7 business days, with 10 to 30 fully edited images.
About Valley
Valley moved into a brand-new hospital at 4 Valley Health Plaza in Paramus in April 2024, and every patient room in the building is private. The Center for Childbirth has 14 labor, delivery and recovery rooms and 42 private postpartum rooms across two floors, its own certified nurse-midwife program, and a Level 3 NICU with private single-patient rooms. Valet parking is available at the front and emergency entrances.
For a Fresh48 session that means a private, quiet, newly built room with room to move — some of the easiest conditions we photograph in. If your baby is in the NICU, tell us, and we will plan the session around the unit's visiting rules.
Fresh48 After a C-Section at Valley
We photograph Fresh48 sessions after cesarean births too. Once you're moved from recovery to your postpartum room and feel settled, you reach out to us. We arrive and photograph your first hours in the room at your pace.

What Families Delivering at Valley Often Ask
Can a photographer visit the postpartum floor at Valley? Most hospitals allow a photographer to visit a patient's room with the patient's approval, but visitor rules can change. We check Valley's current visitor policy with you before your due date and always follow staff guidance on the day.
How do I add the photographer as a visitor? Mention at admission that you have a photographer booked for a postpartum session. Your nurse can tell you the current process, and we can help you with what to say.
What if I'm in a semi-private room? Every room at Valley's Paramus campus is private, so this is rarely a concern here. And if plans change, we have photographed beautifully in shared rooms at other hospitals many times.
What if my baby arrives earlier than expected? From the moment you're booked, we're on call. When your baby arrives, you reach out when you're ready and we come.
What if I don't feel photogenic after delivery? Almost every client has this thought. The way you look right after having a baby is not something to apologize for. It is something to keep.
