Maternity Photographer in NYC

Somewhere around week 28, something shifts. The bump becomes undeniable. The weight of what's coming becomes real in a way that's both terrifying and extraordinary. And then it all moves very fast.

At YourCherish, we photograph maternity sessions that feel like your actual life — not a performance of it. Not stiff poses in front of a studio backdrop. The golden light coming through your living room window. Your hands on your belly on Bow Bridge. Your partner looking at you the way they do when they think you're not watching.

These are the photographs you'll want in 20 years.

How We Work

Every maternity session starts with a conversation. We want to know where you live, what your apartment looks like, whether you've already wandered through Central Park imagining these pictures or whether you've never thought about a specific location at all.

From there, we build a session that's yours. Most clients know they want outdoor or in-home, but plenty don't — and part of what we do is help you figure out what will actually feel right.

We are unhurried, low-pressure, and experienced enough to know that the best maternity images happen when you forget we're there.

Where We Shoot

Central Park, Manhattan Bow Bridge at sunrise. The Ramble's forested quiet. The American elm canopy of the Mall in late fall. Central Park looks different from how most people photograph it — and we know exactly where that difference lives. See the Central Park maternity page →

DUMBO and Brooklyn Bridge Park The cobblestones, the steel of the Manhattan Bridge arch, the waterfront looking back at the skyline. Sunrise sessions here — before the crowds — are some of our most extraordinary work. See the DUMBO maternity page →

Prospect Park, Brooklyn The Long Meadow at golden hour. The Boathouse reflected in the lake. The forested paths that feel nothing like New York City at all. If you live in Brooklyn and haven't considered Prospect Park, you should. See the Prospect Park maternity page →

In Your Home Your kitchen, your nursery corner, the bedroom window light at 10am. In-home maternity sessions are intimate and personal in a way no public location can replicate — and for families staying in their home after the baby arrives, these become the first chapter of a visual story that continues in your newborn session. Beyond these locations: We travel throughout Manhattan, all five boroughs, Hoboken, Jersey City, Westchester, and Connecticut. If you have a location in mind that's not listed, ask. The answer is almost always yes.

What's Included in Every Session

Every maternity booking includes a prenatal consultation where we plan everything together — locations, timing, what to wear, what the flow of the session looks like. You arrive knowing exactly what to expect.

Sessions run 1.5 to 2 hours. You receive 60 to 100 fully edited images in a private online gallery within 3 to 4 weeks, with full resolution downloads and a permanent print release. The images are yours to keep, print, and share forever.

When to Book

The best maternity sessions happen between 28 and 34 weeks. This is the window when your bump is full and beautiful and you're still comfortable and mobile — before the last-trimester fatigue sets in.

We recommend booking at 24 to 26 weeks to secure your ideal date and location. Spring (April–May) and fall (September–October) sessions fill earliest — often 6 to 8 weeks in advance.

Pricing

Maternity sessions start at $850.

Combined packages — maternity with newborn, or the full maternity + Fresh48 + newborn arc — are available at a discount. Most families who experience a maternity session with us come back. Many book everything together.

What Clients Say

"I am not a person who likes being photographed. I told Olga this at the start and she didn't try to talk me out of it — she just made the session feel like a walk in the park with a friend who happened to have a camera. I cried when I saw the gallery. I still cry." — Rachel M., Upper West Side

"We did an in-home session in our Park Slope apartment and I am so grateful. You can see the nursery we hadn't quite finished building, our cats, the specific chaos and beauty of those last weeks. These photos show what our life actually looked like before everything changed." — Julia T., Park Slope Brooklyn

"Olga shot our maternity session at Bow Bridge at sunrise and I still can't believe these are my photos. I looked at them every single day of my third trimester." — Anna S., Upper West Side

About YourCherish

YourCherish was founded by Olga Zinner — a DONA-certified birth doula and documentary photographer who has been present at 86+ births across New York City's hospitals. Our maternity photography is shaped by the same values as our birth and newborn work: presence over performance, authenticity over perfection, and deep respect for what these weeks actually feel like.

We are not a studio. We are a team that shows up for the most significant moments of your life and pays attention.
