Newborn Photography on the Upper West Side, Manhattan

The Upper West Side is one of the most family-dense neighborhoods in Manhattan — brownstones full of new parents, prewar apartments with east-facing windows, Central Park two blocks away. If you live here, you know that your neighbors are likely in the same exhausted, luminous first weeks you are.

We come to you. Your apartment. Your light. Your baby.

What an Upper West Side Newborn Session Looks Like

We arrive at your UWS apartment when your baby is between 5 and 14 days old — the window when they're sleepiest, curliest, and most naturally themselves.

The session is quiet and unhurried. We move through the rooms that have the best light — often the bedroom, the living room near the large windows, the nursery if it's ready. We photograph your baby alone and with you, your partner, siblings. We document the details that will disappear: the size of their hands against yours, the way they sleep on your chest, the specific light in your specific rooms.

We stay 2 to 2.5 hours. We deliver your gallery within 5 to 7 business days.

Upper West Side Apartments and Light

UWS apartments tend to have strong natural light — particularly east-facing bedrooms on higher floors, south-facing living rooms in prewar buildings, and the brownstone parlor-floor windows that many older buildings feature.

If you're not sure whether your apartment has good light for photography: send us a few photos of your main rooms on a morning day. We'll advise you honestly. We've photographed beautiful sessions in small studios and in spacious pre-war apartments — the light is what matters, not the size.

Upper West Side Families Delivering Nearby

Many UWS families deliver at hospitals in or near the neighborhood:

  • NYU Langone / Tisch Hospital (East 34th Street)

  • Mount Sinai Hospital (Upper East Side — 20 minutes)

  • New York-Presbyterian / Weill Cornell (68th and York)

  • Lenox Hill Hospital (Upper East Side — 15 minutes)

If you're booking a Fresh48 session for your hospital birth, many families combine this with a newborn session at home 1–2 weeks after discharge. Booking both together gives you a visual story of your baby's first days — in the hospital and in your home.
