Fresh48 & Newborn Photographer Near Brooklyn Methodist Hospital
NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist sits at 506 Sixth Street in Park Slope — one of the most family-dense neighborhoods in Brooklyn, surrounded by the kind of leafy brownstone blocks that make you feel like you made the right choice moving to Brooklyn in the first place.
It's a hospital we work at constantly. Park Slope is our most active Brooklyn neighborhood for Fresh48, newborn, and maternity photography. The combination — one of the city's best community hospital maternity programs in one of the city's best family neighborhoods — means we're here all the time, and we know exactly how to make the most of it.
Fresh48 at Brooklyn Methodist
Brooklyn Methodist has a reputation among Brooklyn families that's distinct from the big Manhattan academic centers: it's community-oriented, well-staffed, and genuinely warm without sacrificing clinical quality. The Park Slope Midwives practice delivers here, which means the culture on the floor often has a midwifery-model influence — more patience with natural labor preferences, more comfort with doulas and photographers, more ease about the whole experience.
The postpartum rooms are functional and comfortable. They're not fancy, but the light from south-facing windows in the afternoon is actually quite good for photography, and the rooms are large enough to move around in.
From the Hospital to Your Brooklyn Apartment
After Brooklyn Methodist, most families go home to Park Slope, Carroll Gardens, Cobble Hill, Gowanus, Prospect Heights, Windsor Terrace, or one of the surrounding neighborhoods. These are some of our favorite in-home newborn session locations in all of New York.
Brooklyn brownstone apartments — with their high ceilings, wide plank floors, and afternoon light through parlor windows — photograph beautifully. The nursery corner you've been building, the kitchen on a Saturday morning, the way afternoon light falls across your living room floor: these are the images that complement your Fresh48 hospital photos and become the first chapter of your baby's story at home.
In-home sessions are typically scheduled between days 5 and 14. We bring a full studio setup and we're there for 3 to 4 hours, completely at your pace.
Booking
If you're delivering at Brooklyn Methodist, reach out at 34 to 36 weeks. We'll go on-call from 37 weeks and come as soon as you're ready in your postpartum room.
