Lenox Hill Hospital sits at 77th Street on the Upper East Side — one of Manhattan's most established and family-dense neighborhoods. It's part of the Northwell Health system and has one of the most respected labor and delivery programs in the city, known for attentive nursing care and an atmosphere that doesn't feel like a conveyor belt.

What the First Hours at Lenox Hill Look Like

Lenox Hill's L&D floor has a reputation among families for being calmer and more personalized than some of the larger Manhattan hospital campuses. The rooms are reasonably sized for Manhattan, the nursing staff tends to be attentive, and the overall pace of the place creates conditions where a Fresh48 session can unfold naturally without feeling rushed.

The postpartum rooms vary — corner rooms on the east side of the building catch morning light in a way that creates beautiful conditions for photography. We'll work with whatever room you're in, but if you can request a room on the higher floors facing east, it's worth trying.

Booking a Fresh48 at Lenox Hill

Reach out before your due date — ideally by 34 to 36 weeks. We'll have a conversation about your birth preferences, what to expect from a Fresh48 session, and the logistics of getting us to the hospital quickly after you deliver.

You're added to our on-call list. When the baby arrives and you're settled in your postpartum room, you send a message. We arrive within the hour.

In-Home Newborn Sessions on the Upper East Side

After Lenox Hill, we come to you. The Upper East Side has some of Manhattan's finest in-home photography conditions — classic pre-war apartments with high ceilings and large windows, modern buildings with clean lines and excellent natural light, townhouses with south-facing parlor floors that flood with afternoon sun.
