Birth Doula Support at NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue, Manhattan
Bellevue Hospital at 462 First Avenue in Kips Bay is the oldest public hospital in the country and a New York State Regional Perinatal Center, with roughly 1,200 to 1,500 births a year in eight single labor and delivery suites.
YourCherish provides certified birth doula support for families delivering at Bellevue. Multilingual. Culturally responsive. Completely present.
Delivering at Bellevue — What to Know
Bellevue is part of NYC Health + Hospitals. Labor and delivery happens in single-occupancy suites, and families can be cared for by midwives as well as obstetricians, which makes it a popular choice for families who want a low-intervention birth with a full hospital behind them.
As a Regional Perinatal Center, Bellevue has a Level III NICU on site, so it also cares for high-risk pregnancies and babies who need intensive care from the moment they are born.
The hospital has held Baby-Friendly designation since 2016. Bellevue treats doulas as part of the birthing team, so your YourCherish doula can be with you through labor; we still confirm the current support-person rules with your care team before your due date.
YourCherish provides doula support in English, Russian, and Spanish — ensuring full communication and advocacy regardless of your primary language.

Your Birth Story at Bellevue: Doula + Photography
Your YourCherish doula is also a documentary birth photographer, so you never have to bring a stranger into your birth room. Families delivering at Bellevue can add any of these to their doula package:
Birth photography by your doula. The same person supporting you through labor at Bellevue quietly documents your labor and your baby's first moments, without adding another person to the room.
Fresh48 in your postpartum room. Soft, unposed photos of your first days together, taken at Bellevue before you go home. See Fresh48 at Bellevue →
Maternity session at home or outdoors. At 32–36 weeks, in your home or the East River esplanade or Madison Square Park.
Hospital photo and video rules can change, so we confirm them with your care team before your birth, and we always pause when staff ask us to. See the doula + photography packages →
