Birth Doula Support at NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln, Bronx
Lincoln Medical Center at 234 East 149th Street in Mott Haven is the public hospital for the South Bronx, and in 2026 it became one of the first six hospitals in New York City certified as a Doula-Friendly Hospital.
YourCherish provides certified birth doula support for families delivering at Lincoln. Multilingual. Culturally responsive. Completely present.
Delivering at Lincoln — What to Know
Labor happens in spacious, private, family-friendly rooms with their own bathrooms. After delivery you room in with your baby in single or double postpartum rooms that include a soaking tub and spacious showers, and a Level 3 nursery lets premature babies stay close to their mothers.
Lincoln is designated Baby-Friendly, which means rooming-in and early feeding are the norm, and it holds a Safe Sleep Champion designation. Childbirth and breastfeeding classes are offered in both Spanish and English.
In August 2026 the city named Lincoln one of the first Doula-Friendly Hospitals, a recognition for integrating doulas into the maternity care team. Fewer than 6% of Bronx births in 2025 had doula support, so continuous labor support here makes a real difference. Support-person rules can change, so we confirm them before your due date.
YourCherish provides doula support in English, Russian, and Spanish — ensuring full communication and advocacy regardless of your primary language.

Your Birth Story at Lincoln: Doula + Photography
Your YourCherish doula is also a documentary birth photographer, so you never have to bring a stranger into your birth room. Families delivering at Lincoln can add any of these to their doula package:
Birth photography by your doula. The same person supporting you through labor at Lincoln quietly documents your labor and your baby's first moments, without adding another person to the room.
Fresh48 in your postpartum room. Soft, unposed photos of your first days together, taken at Lincoln before you go home. See Fresh48 at Lincoln →
Maternity session at home or outdoors. At 32–36 weeks, in your home or St. Mary's Park, a few minutes from the hospital, or along the Harlem River on Randall's Island.
Hospital photo and video rules can change, so we confirm them with your care team before your birth, and we always pause when staff ask us to. See the doula + photography packages →
